• YouTube – Warrington Rylands’ incredible season so far

As part of my work with Rylands Round-Up, I’ve put together a video-report on their season so far, which currently sees the Blues sitting top of the Northern Premier League West Division. We also get an insight into what it means to some of the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes at Gorsey Lane to make everything click.

  • About me

    About me

I’m a graduate in Sports Journalism from the University of Chester.

In my four years at the University I developed a range of journalistic skills, which I have obtained by partaking in a variety of modules and submitting a number of assignments. These modules have included Critical thinking, Global perspectives, Introduction to the Social Sciences, Sports Broadcasting, Sports Writing, The Sports Business, Sports Industry Project, Journalism Regulation and Specialist Journalism.

I’ve reported on live sport at a number of stadiums, including Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park, Chester FC’s Deva Stadium and Widnes RLFC’s Halton Stadium.

Recently, I’ve worked closely with Warrington Rylands FC as part of a team with four of my University colleagues to provide unofficial coverage of the club in several different ways. I have produced more than sixty written posts for the website set up as part of that, Rylands Round-Up, which can be accessed through the link at the top of the homepage.

Furthermore, as a Tranmere Rovers fan of more than fourteen years, I’ve provided a journalistic take on the Whites in podcasts, YouTube appearances and written material. I also ran an unofficial site dedicated to coverage of Rovers as part of an assignment, Borough Road Bulletin.

I’m an ambitious and driven individual always open to new ideas and opportunities.

I can be contacted via email at zaknathan@icloud.com and found on Twitter via the handle @ZakHayes6.

    Rylands Round-Up

Since October 2021, myself and four of my Chester University colleagues have worked closely with Warrington Rylands FC to provide unofficial coverage of David McNabb’s Blues in numerous ways in the form of Rylands Round-Up.

We have found covering Rylands thoroughly rewarding and enjoyable, with the team currently flying high at the top of the Northern Premier League West Division and the club and playing squad being extremely accommodating and helpful to us.

Our coverage includes match reports, previews, pre and post match interviews, live tweets from games, insights into the history of clubs we’ve seen Rylands play, podcasts featuring a variety of guests, video reports, interactive pre-match polls, opinion pieces and news updates regarding whatever is happening at Gorsey Lane.

  • Borough Road Bulletin

Between January and February 2021, I ran a page dedicated to reports and feature articles on Tranmere Rovers FC, Borough Road Bulletin.
